Nairobi is the capital of Kenya, Mombasa was the capital till 1963, and one of the biggest cities in Africa. The in 1899 founded city became the capital of the British East Africa Protectorate in 1905, the city was a centre for the colony's coffee, tea and sisal industry. Nairobi is named after the Narobi river and is also named "Green City in the Sun".
Nairobi is a much visited city, it is the safari capital of the World.
